I'm not terribly familiar with safari's tools, but it sounds like a browser rendering issue. Especially since you say "most of the time", whereas "all of the time" would point to a FileMaker thing.
Have you seen if it displays correctly in other browsers?
Can you inspect the element to see what inherited CSS style for color: it has received when rendered?
I too have had this issue and the solution seems to be to change the Black text to a colour close to black (but not #000000).
hope this helps.
This was my experience to, with FileMaker 13 last year. I have not seen the problem with FileMaker 14 which we are using for everything that involves WebDirect.
Which version of FileMaker Server are you using?
And to Mike, who answered above ... It was not only a Safari problem, but we never got it in 14. But I may have caused the misunderstanding by mentioning Safari in my text.
Hey Carsten, good to hear it was worked out in 14, they made a lot of improvements and I >100% recommend to any WebDirect users to upgrade to 14. Aside from more reliability in the UI rendering, there's massive performance gains.
I've been running tests of 13 vs. 14 and the numbers are impressive, much higher than the conservative 25% improvement that the documentation from FMI states.
Best of luck using WD!
Yes, we never understood the claim of 25% speed improvement. At least it seem to be much better than that.
Yes we are using FM server 13, but are looking to upgrade soon, will see if this fixes the issue.
