I have a very simple FileMaker 11 db for staff to request purchases. There is a portal that I use for the line items in each purchase request.
Some of the fields are required and I didn't want to make them required in the table design.
I used the text tool and made an object behind the field in the portal row. The text object says "Required" and its color is red. Then I made the field transparent and set a conditional format on the field to fill the field White when not empty.
Looks great but when I am on a record and I select any part of the portal, the entire portal become active and the "Required" labels dissapear.
I really would appreciate any help with this.
I am using this method of conditional formating to give a visual of what is required in the portal record.
