Server is not compatible. There are a few issues, but not show stoppers with Pro. I'm sure you will hear many announcements when the upgrades are available b
Ok I may be nuts, I also know it won't help this topic but how could this compatibility issue happen??? Yosemite has been beta tested for months, Filemaker and Apple are almost the same company, etc.
This is real non sense and I think that Filemaker should extend our subscription according to the duration of this non compatibility issue.
Whaoo I feel much better now
Best to everyone
I totally agree!
I am from the world of Windows, but these kind of issues also happen in this world. Thing is developers get copies of an upcoming version of an OS in advance to prepare. So they test the new OS and try to adapt to changes. Things is, when the new OS is released, there are changes that can break software. So developers need again to tests their software. That takes time, and some more time if issues need to be resolve. And this is true for all developers, not just for FileMaker.
Users should refrain from updating to the latest OS until the software they use is declared to be compatible.
I would agree with you about beta versions. Not about a release that has been launched with such fuss around. This is the responsability of Big companies. I know it happened in the past to major one such as Windows, Lotus (who died because of a terrible experience when entering the Windows world) etc.
I know how difficult it is to create software that works perfectly well in every situations. But frankly, this compatibility issue makes me speechless. It almost looks like Apple and FileMaker developers ignored each other. Not very professional for a subsidary of Apple.
And in case of knowing that something could go wrong, it is the responsability of Filemaker to officially prevent their users not to upgrade to Yosemite because this issue was obvioulsy known. I did not receive any note about this.
This thread also happened about a week ago. Search TechNet.
My original question was "does anyone know if this issue has been resolved?" I understand the incompatibility, but was only requesting any update. Thanks for your comment.
