Is there someone who know how to get the IP of the Access Point where we are connected ?
what kind of access point ? would need to know network configuration.
run a traceroute from your machine to the desttination
we have by example 5 access point wifi who broadcast same ssid and I need to know on whish one I'm connected.
I'm on an iPad so how I do a traceroute in a script ?
Good question! So, just to clarify, you need to be able to determine the Access Point's IP from within a Filemaker script?
yes because I need this information on iPad from wifi network
The only thing I can think of is findng/writing a network tools iOS app that implements a custom protocol/URL scheme where you could fire the trace request using Open URL and also provide a callback address (using an FMP URL) that would post the info back to FileMaker.
Accesspoint itself doesn't need ip address for network connection of wifi client. It usually have address for managing the accesspoint.
If the accesspoint is also router, it should have ip address. But your case seems not this.
Nevermind, this won't work. As user19752 pointed out, if you have 5 access points on the same SSID then they're really not handling any DHCP/Gateway activities, and would therefore not show up in a trace. The first hop you'll see is the gateway. :0/
