Because the button is too small to display the picture?
Buttons scale automatically for the iOS device. However, your picture will only scale down to its minimum size and no smaller. Try using a smaller image on the iOS layout.
The other images are considerably smaller, no?
What are the pixel dimensions of the printer image? Have you saved it in a smaller dimension (H x W) and tried that?
Where is it stored? Did you insert it directly on the layout, or is it referenced as a container? Or is it referenced using a path that is mapped to the original PC? (If this is the case, then the iPhone will not be able to see it.)
other images are 16 x 16. The printer was made larger, because FileMaker takes the size of the image to display the error. At the size of 16 x 16, I only got "i", so I made it larger in order to be able to read the full message. Looks like on FMGo, the image is not found.
For he other images that work, they are grouped with their button, but I don't think that would change anything.
I wonder if in the case of the printer, the image would not be incorporated to the database but a reference to it would be inserted, and for sure the iPhone can't find the image locally.
Hum, puzzling to say the least .
You may be on the track of the issue....
It also depends on how you get the images into FileMaker.
Try opening the image in an image viewer, where you can select and copy the image.
Paste onto the layout and see if that works.
Grouping with a button or any other object will not make any difference
What I meant was the actual pixel dimensions of the image.
But I believe the "insert as reference" is probably where the issue is coming from. If you dragged the image onto the layout, that would do it. Either copy and paste, as Claus suggested, or use the Insert menu item and make sure you don't choose "reference".
thye bug was about 16" from the monitor .
There is a checkbox at the bottom that says "Store only a reference to the file", and is was checked.
Mike, what do you mean "Buttons scale automatically for the iOS device." ? They are not the same size as defined in the layout ?
Thanks to both of you.
Try going to a web site sometime on an iOS device. You’ll notice the graphics scale automatically.
This does not happen with many other platforms. I was suspecting that it may have something to do with your issue, but obviously not.
