I have a container field which I store jpgs in. I would like to rename the file upon export using the contents of a field as the new title.
I am sure this must be easy, but I just can't seem to get this to work for me.
This is the method Beverly is referring to.
The examples in FM help may give you more info. Basically when you get a dialog asking for a filename, don't "hard code", but use a variable ($filepath, for ex.). Then use Set variable to setup the filename (including path to where) before the export script step. Export Field Contents script step may work beautifully this.

I have been trying touse the Export Field Contents. It has two settings. The first, the field to be exported, and the second is a bit confusing to me and I am trying to learn it. I assume you are saying to write a script into the large field under the Specify Ourput File option?
I am very proud to say that I just learned how to make my first variable! Sweet!
yes, and this help topic:
In the Export Field to File dialog box, choose a location and type a filename.
FileMaker Pro saves the field’s content to a new file in the specified location."
Rather than the filename, I'm saying you can use a variable. Then you can set the variable (via script) to the path (as described in the first link above).
The Export Field Contents can be a script step, but set the variable in the step anywhere above this one.
