When you tap the container field the paste popup appears I no longer get the menu that gives me the camera option. What is that controlled by?
So I got it figured out. Thanks shamblee you helped point me in the right direction. So all four of the iPads I am deploying are for a small business. I used apples configurator app to set them up and deploy them. Sadly Apple and Filemaker need better coordination. When you install FMgo through configurator the app is not in the settings menu on the iPad to enable the camera and the configurator app has no camera specific settings. So until I can get a second server to run the MDM solution on I had to set a a garbage apple id and iTunes account to manage getting FMgo onto the devices.
If you have installed custom menus, be sure that the Insert options menu is fully enabled. Removing the Insert menu, or some of its choices, can disable these options.
Insert menu is enables in custom menus and still all I get is the paste popup. Disabled custom menus and put it back on standard set and still get paste popup. Could it have anything to do with the toolbar on iOS?
FileMaker has to have permission from the OS to use the camera. Is that set?
It works when I am logging in with full access but none of the other privilege sets. I set up one of the accounts with the standard menu set and it still does not work.
Then it's a permissions issue. Check to see if the account having trouble has Edit privileges for that table, that it has access to the layout in question, and what the available menu commands are in its privilege set (should be All instead of Edit or Minimal).
Only the full access account can use the camera. I made a privilege set with the exact same setting as the full access, all for menu command setting and showing the toolbar and it does not work.
It seems that the toolbar must be showing in order to access the camera. I have the toolbar set to show but it is not doing it. Is there an iOS specific way of controlling the toolbar?
The toolbar does not affect the camera option menu. As mention in other post the custom menu can affect the menu, I usually just set custom menu to default. Another item that may cause issues is Filemaker Go not being update, so make sure it is update.
If you are using ios8 then the os needs permission to use the camera, this doesn't effect the menu from showing, you will get a back screen. This issue is fix under settings.
