    Never ending iOS pinwheel

What's causing the iPad to pinwheel to spin endlessly?

I'm working with a client who is filling out forms on a couple iPads (specs below). When they move to the next form (committing the record and switching layouts), they often get stuck with the never-ending iOS pinwheel. They sometimes have to quit FM Go to get out of it.

This happens at different places in the process. Sometimes when committing a picture, sometimes a signature, sometimes just committing text and moving to the next layout.

      We've tried this on different high-quality, low-traffic Wi-Fi zones. There's a T1 line on the server side.

If you touch the screen, you will sometimes get a dialog asking if you want to stop the current script - Yes/No. About half the time, touching either choice will dismiss the pinwheel and the data seems to be OK. All script steps are approved for FM Go.

The client is rapidly losing faith in the project we built for them. Is there anything I can do to clear this up?

How does it perform on FileMaker Pro?

Do you have any OnLayout Enter/Exit script triggers on the layouts? What are they trying to do?

Are the layouts displaying data from related records? Are those tables more than on table away?

               *** Perfectly!

*** Yes. They check that the data is entered properly and alerts the user if they've left any required fields empty. Then as I said, the data gets committed and takes the user to another layout. Remember, these are often (but not always) images that cause the issues. And it happens at different places in the process at different times.

Having the script to look at or the layout itself will aid everyone in seeing what could possibly be causing an issue.

Additionally, are these picture/signature fields within a portal or a part of the currently layout table?

These user may be getting logged out because of inactivity, if some of these fields are large and it takes longer to type on a smaller iOS keyboard.  Verify your user privilege settings.   About disconnecting users from FileMaker Server when idle
