tricky one, you need to be able to enter the html/js code on the actual page that filemaker serves up. Im not sure if adding it to a web viewer would work (it might). its probably not ideal as you need to consider the domain name you are using to access this, security and so on.
I guess it wouldn't take long to stick the analytics tags in a web viewer and see if it is being picked up
Thank you malachydevlin !! I have found a link FileMaker Pro User Metrics - Using Google Analytics - YouTube, where they have used web viewer to enter js code of GA(Google Analytics). I have tried the same thing but it is not working for me.
What you could do (if you are handy with html) is create an index.html page (with all your code in it) that is a menu page with a link to redirect you to the FM web direct portal, its a bit messy though.
otherwise you could try an iframe tag in the web viewer to a separate html page (just with analytics code).
I think to be honest webdirect lends itself well to hosting a customers private application (with a predictable no of users)but not great for public facing websites.
i think(correct me if i am wrong) creating index.html page and redirecting to FM web direct portal will not give me the events of portal which i may need to send to GA.
Yes, web direct lends itself well to hosting a customers private application, I was trying out different exercises on Filemaker to make myself more familiar.
I will try out both points which you suggested.
