I know that MBS plugin gives you a lot more control of CUPS printers than the native print dialog box.
I've only worked with thermal printers that use generic postscript drivers, so I'm not sure I've heard of anyone doing it natively. If you contact Christian through the site above he might be able to advise you more on if a plugin is required.
VErsions of Star and Epson printers are also coming with cups-driver. I had to define seperate paper formats, then I could print from FM. Take care about portrait/landscape...
ALthough I don't have zebra printers on OSX, it's worth a try..
Hi - thanks for all your input. We ended up going with the Peninsula driver for the Zebra printer. The 'tags' that we used were very specialized and required the Peninsula group to do a customization of their driver for this client. Not optimal, but good to know that they were willing to go to this length to support the sale of their product.
