I had to use that technique in hiding borders of object. I would think none, would make the line disappear, but depending on the theme the border will not disappear, but setting line to 0 pt causes the line to disappear. I agree I think that is a bug, none should equal a point of 0.
out of curiosity, how big is that image? I would assume the corner radius is not measured in percent, rather in points. As a web developer, I always use the CSS property for border-radius in a measure (em, px) and not percent.
Not sure it would be considered a bug since you're rendering style to a container field, rather than to an image itself. Container field styles have always been a little finicky in my experience.

The image is 200pt and it's in a container that is 200pt with 100pt radius.
If it's 'finicky' then there is a bug in there somewhere.
