FMS require Java 7 and you probably have Java 8. Refer to the install documents where the required version of Java should be stated.
As for apache, FMS13 takes over apache, so if you need to run other stuff on the same machine or virtual hosts, I have released a free guide and tool for that; ** NEW ** - Updated Virtual Host for FMS13 guide and tool | .:: DataManix - Filemaker development ::.
Nice FMS13 guide, thanks for making this. Very helpful
Claus, holy cow... I just opened your file from the guide, then re-ran deployment and now everything on this yosemite machine is working fine (http://localhost:16001/test - all tests pass). Did that file have anything to do with this fix? (FMS_VirtualHost_v2.fmp12)
Maybe it was another reboot and another deployment then, but everything seems to be working. Of course MAMP Pro is not, but I don't need it on this machine anyway. I just want to thank you so so much (even it you did not have anything to do with the fix). But boy, I must have just saved days of troubleshooting! Best, Jigs
Glad it works for you now.
Re-deployment is an easy way to fix a lot of issues.
If you need to run several websites on the server, or want to use alias, redirect or maybe want to store your CWP files in another folder, e.g. on another drive, my guide and tool can be used to accomplish that.
Thanks. You are more than welcome to share the information to fellow developers, if anyone is interested.
Thx again Claus, but where do I go from here, can you give me a pointer? As I have fmserve 13.5 and client all running great on a LAN, and I want to make things accessible on the internet. Is there a guide for getting that done? I've turned off Yosemite Server and MAMP Pro as it seems that's what was required, but now I am clueless on how to serve stuff to the internet...I'm like a fish out of water
I suggest that you start reading FileMaker documentation and FileMaker Training series.
You are talking about websites and a CWP site, but your screenshot is WebDirect.
This is 2 different things.
It will take too much time to explain everything here, which is why I suggest that you do some reading first.
thx, will do!
