I got mails subjected like
Re: [Firstname Lastname] - title of discussion
but the members creating discussion in their place seem not open their name in profile.
Hi, in the email that I received for this discussion, it showed as "created by user19752". Can you send me a message with what you're seeing in the email, and the person that it's coming from?
I believe it only happens when people post FROM their own stream(s) and/or profile.
Thx beverly, yes it is.
matthew_odell, usually the subject starts with [Discussion], and this discussion has [FileMaker Community Feedback], so I assume this brancketed words shows place name.
I was awere of this when one of the mails had Japanese characters in the subject, but not newly thing, seems occurred at least February 21.
Some mails has sender as "Guest <firstname.lastname@example.org>" but they should not be "guest".
one of them has subject as "Re: [Michael Langdon] - FM pro advanced freezing when opening file"
"Sender is Guest" question is solved by Bev's post. I thought that guest is "view only" but it is wrong.
Anyone can reply to existing discussion, "name" and "email" should be filled when replying, but it seems not used any checking.
I tested 2 mail addresses, one was my own, but got no mail from this community, one was "email@example.com"
This may be another problem, why spammers don't use this feature?
Creating new discussion need to be registered, so [Michael Langdon] may registered and create discussion, but when replying he may not logged in since it's not required.
This is not entirely true. This is only possible when people post something in "The FileMaker Community" instead of posting it into the Discussions area. Both of these issues stem from people using "The FileMaker Community" as where their post goes.
I understand, another test of Bev in "Discussion" testing name in posts to email I don't see reply link when not logged in.
This post refreshed on community update. I haven't seen the issue at least after May 2016. Resolved.
