I have several clients that are now requiring P6 Primavera when turning in a construction schedule. Has anyone integrated P^ with a FileMaker solution?
I did, many years ago (back when it was P3). Not impossible, but you end up doing a two-step process (export / import to an intermediary file). And you need to have a predictable data dictionary on the Primavera side.
According to the web site, Primavera is ODBC compliant and runs on Oracle, JBoss, and IBM WebSphere. Oracle databases are ESS compliant for FileMaker which might be useful. There is an API for Primavera (runs on Java) if you want to do HTTP POSTS/Gets, Restful, etc. Granted I don't know Primavera, but this is what I got from a quick Google search. I only see open doors for connecting a FM database with Primavera. Granted the devil is in the details of making things work together, but all the standard connectivity is there according to the web site.
Well, it's obviously changed some since I did it.
Yeah. I used P3 and earlier, but not since then. I know people still using it and it seems to be pretty nice now.
