You do restore a backup after the crash, right? Not jus trying to re-host the crashed files?
I have tried both recovering the file before restarting FM Server and versioning back to the previous hourly backup before the crash. No go.
WHat version of the FMS and what OS version? Always important - but here even more. The older versions of FMS13 had more problems with the administration.
IS it a one-machine configuration?
IF something gots really messed up because of the crash: De- and re-installing FMS could be the easiest besides of trashing the config files (keep the backups!). Trashing the config files will result in re-config the server
THe problem is with the server, not the files, IMHO
config files: Here's a list of config files and their location (I searched for 'resetting passwd' because other searches were not successfull..)
(in this context, the forum's behavior to display some 'human' text when pasting a web-address is somewhat silly..)
Typical bug of FMS 13.
it boils down to setting the same name in System Preferences - Sharing - Computer name and FMS.
Watch the video, you will be on the abundant side of light.
Wow. This helps a lot as it addresses the root of the problem. Thanks!
