    Standby Server Automated Fail-over.

I am wondering if any has worked on this at all. An automated fail-over would be most useful. I was thinking the standby server would do some sort of scheduled FM or system level script to check for the existence of the primary FM Server running on the network. If it is not detected it would automatically run the Failover command to get things up and running. If I need to be on hand to manage a failover I do not see the advantage of the standby server except from a hardware failure point of view.

I am also struggling with how I manage the remote connections to hit the standby server when the static IP WAN routing sends the traffic to the IP of the primary server on the LAN.

I am having trouble wrapping my head around the external data storage setup requirements as well.
