My company just upgraded from FileMaker 10 to 14. Does anyone know if this plug in is suppose to work?
it works with Filemaker 14.If it is just for storing and downloading files over the web you won't need it anymore.
Filemaker 14 containers allow you to upload and download files without plugin support.
Yes, it work: http://www.360works.com/news/detail/304
I would add that SuperContainer gives you a lot more control over how the files are handled, as well as a lot of good functions.
So I would stick with it, if you have it in your solution and it works well for you.
We kept it in all of our solutions and actually will use it in new development, as well.
Hope this helps,
Here's a useful comparison of supercontainer vs. FM functionality that's now native. It's a useful tool to try and figure out when the plugin is still applicable, and for me at least there were a few surprises, either as "I thought FM could do that" or "I didn't know supercontainer could do that", so I try and refer to it whenever approaching a project where I could go either way.
Still getting a " ? " in the field. Do you have any other suggestions.
What does the field do? If you have a calculation can you post that?
The field is suppose to ask you for the file path of the file you want to be put inside the portal container.
Please either copy/paste code here or take screenshots. I would love to help you but I can't see what's in your database.
There could be a lot of causes. I'm assuming this is a calculation. Fields don't ask for a path, they display one if you have one.
What else did you do besides upgrading your solution to FM14? Where is your SuperContainer server located? How is the Base URL set up?
This works fine in FileMaker 10. That’s where we are live right now. We noticed that when we hit the button it puts an “ ? “ in the field. I’m not sure if we need to upgrade the plug in.

So the field should display the actual image, if my assumption is right. Another assumption is that the file is not being uploaded because of one reason or another.
Please answer my questions and provide more information so I can help.
1. What version of SuperContainer do you use and what's your plug-in version? They usually should match.
How would I go about finding the versions?
I just put the updated plugin into the extensions folder. I’m getting an error when I go to open FileMaker:
Do you think this could be the reason?
Plug-in: Find your plug-in, right click on it and see the version.
SuperContainer: Navigate to SuperContainer in the browser (your server address/SuperContainer) that will give you the SC version.
What is the error?
Please be specific.
Also, are you a user or a developer? Did you originally implement SuperContainer?
The SC version is .20
It's probably 2 (dot) something.
We need to know the two app versions, not just one. Please read above.
On lines 7 and 8 it says "<function missing>", which indicates that either A) you don't have the plugin installed to FM14, B) the function names have changed between your old version of SC and the new or C) something else "glitched" in which case you should be able to just put the correct function name back in place.
He has the plug-in, but might have the wrong version. I can't remember if there are 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
Okay so since you're on Windows, control click on the plug-in in the extensions folder and take a screenshot of the info window, please.
Also, Have you restarted FM since you installed/upgraded the plug-in?
You might want to check the Java version on your computer, as well.
Remember to update your plugin to the latest version so it works on 64 bits and therefore with FM14.
Older versions won't load though you set FileMaker to run in 32 bit mode.
