I assume you use "data:" in webviewer. It is not work on IE since using in WEBD, webviewer become iframe, data: protocol in src is not supported by IE.
"copied these generated HTML information to an default location" is the answer. Is there any problem?
If copied to an default location there is no problem, in the webviever the data is handled by the jqGrid and we use safari as the browser. The generated HTML in local displays an frame , but that frame is not shown in the web direct version.
What's the work around? We want to use the web viewer to display google maps data in WebDirect. We began by generating the code for the map type and then using a calculation in the web viewer that looks like this: "data:text/html," & htmlCode.
I don't have working sample now, so write only idea.
Make a html that get parameters from query string in URL, then put it on FMS.
Web viewer use it
"http(s)://yourWebDirectHost/the.html?parametersInHtmlCode=" & GetAsURLEncoded ( someValue )
I've been trying to think of other ways to handle this but it seems that
that solution may be the best way.
While arguably not as convenient as the data URL was, I place a vote of confidence in the technique cited by user19752.
Ultimately, I think it will afford us a few more possibilities that would not be available with just the data URL, so that is the trade-off as I see it:
- somewhat more of a hassle to implement
- more options once we get comfortable with it
Best regards to all,
Generally, I also think this is a good idea. However, this afternoon I
discovered that Google has stepped up to produce the Maps Embed API.
Copy any of the Google Maps Embed example code into a webviewer and
you'll see the error "This web page will only be displayed in an
iframe". glory be!
Switch to WebDirect and you'll see the web page.
