on MAC holding down the opt key tells FM to ignore everything else and produce the authentication dialog as a file is opened.
I dont think its possible to override this behavior.
I may be wrong tho.
i would find another way to trigger the script other than the opt key
I have a script which uses the Open File script step. One way the user can trigger the script involved holding down the Option key. If the user doesn't release the Option key fast enough, and the file to open isn't already open, the user is prompted to enter username and password to open the DB. But both DBs use the same username/password, so the prompt shouldn't happen and isn't needed.
Is there some way I can make the script ignore the modifier key and just open the DB as though Option is not being held down?
Anothersmurf, you could use an alternative modifier key like the control key. If the user holds down the control key you can trap for that (4) and then run your script, and this will not invoke the password dialog.
