I know of a few web developers that have been begging firefox to switch over to webkit for the past few years. Chrome and Safari both use it, heck even Opera dropped presto and switched to webkit. Mozilla seems vehemently opposed to switching to being "frontend over webkit", and say their uniqueness in using gecko is a feature. They seemingly budged since AFAIK they use webkit for the iOS version of firefox, as well as the android version, but for the desktop it's gecko or nothing.
In terms of us though, it means that until FMI officially develops support for firefox, we'll just have to deal with the inabilities.
In the meantime, I'd highly recommend chrome, I switched years ago and never had a reason to go back.
