"Communication Interrupted" Problems
When using remote access with FileMaker Pro 13.0v3 via the internet we can't seem to maintain a connection. The host computer is an iMac27 with OS 10.9, the client computers are Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. We get "Communication with the host was interrupted and could not be re-established. All affected windows will be closed". This happens in two circumstances:
1) When a remote file is opened and nothing else is done, the connection will consistently be lost in what seems to be precisely 90 seconds.
2) When a remote file is opened and then worked on, the coffee cup will appear and the connection will be lost in much less than 90 seconds, sometimes immediately upon the first entry or two.
Might anybody know the solution for this? Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Michael, sounds like you might have a network problem. Also I'd like to mention that you should probably not connect to this database via WiFi. WiFi can be flaky and drop your connection. If it drops even for a moment, FileMaker will sever the connection. Could also be a bad network card or slow DSL, etc.
