The "Save a Copy As..." command is only available where you are the host and there are no guests. So it will never be available to a guest when the database is hosted by FileMaker Server.
Thanks for the fast response! I appreciate it!
So you're saying in order to "Save a Copy As...", we would have to take down the DB from FMServer and then locally open it?
David is in Australia, so he may not answer for some time.
However, the answer is "Yes". You would have to close the file in FileMaker Server and open it locally. Then, you'll have the ability to "Save a Copy As..."
Thanks for the swift reply! Much Appreciated!
Even moreso, thanks for the answer, I was worried that my conversion had stripped the DB of it's access privileges, phew!
I am having the same issue but have some reluctance by the remote IT team to help. Is the "copy as greyed out" issue because I do not have full access rights to the server folder? Surely to make a copy on to the server would be a function of administrator and therefore included in his/her rights? Finally, how do I get to make a copy of the file?
In essence I am looking to use the right language to help/talk to our IT helpdesk (!)
Thanks a lot,
