Great helpon this forum ... ;(
Just found out that there seems to bo a problem with Filemaker and/or ODBC connector-5.1.5-win64. I dublicated my install on a VISTA 32B system and everything works like a charm.
Ack! I'm sorry that your post has slipped through. :smileymad: :smileysad:
I'm glad that you're up and running, hopefully you'll come back and post the next time you have an issue We'd love to see you again!
I had a similar problem when trying to use the 64 bit MySQL ODBC driver (5.1) with the 64 bit version of Windows Vista. The 64 bit ODBC driver would install OK and you could even define Data Sources OK using Control Panel / Admin Tools / Data Sources. However when you go into Filemaker the ODBC Data Source list is empty.
The solution is to:
1) If the 64 bit MySQL ODBC driver is installed, uninstall it.
2) Install the 32 bit MySQL ODBC driver.
3) Do NOT use Control Panel / Admin Tools / Data Sources to define data sources.
4) Rather, go to the \windows\SysWOW64 directory and run 'odbcad32.exe' directly from there to define data sources.
odbcad32.exe in \windows\SysWOW64 looks exactly like the one in Control Panel / Admin Tools / Data Sources, but I'm believe it is the a 32 bit version and the one in Control Panel a 64 bit version.
Nevertheless, once I performed the procedure above, the ODBC data sources appeared in Filemaker and life was good!
Hope this saves someone out there some time. I wish I would have found an explanation like this when I was having trouble.
That did it.
Thanks so much for this Buck!! Just solved the same problem for me.
