A COUNTIF TYPE OF FUNCTION – THE SAGA CONTINUES TEMPORARILY
NumList::NumsBase = SeasonNums::MeetNums will only work for your count function in NumList if SeasonNums::MeetNums is a stored, indexed field.
In that case, a calculation field defined in NumList as Count ( SeasonNums::MeetNums ) will return the correct count.
AND THAT WORKS GREAT!
This morning I tried this out on another file to get a better understanding, but this "MeetNums" is a number field with an "Indexed, Auto-enter Calculation replaces existing value" option – and its not working.
I remembered a key question that was asked: "Is SeasonNums::MeetNums a number field or some kind of calculation field? If a calculation what is the calculation?"
What do I need to change to get the "count" to work with a calculation option?
Some calculations such as those that reference data in related tables cannot be stored/indexed and this keeps them from working as a match field on the "child" side of a relationship.
Since it's indexed, it should still work. You'll need to investigate the actual values and field data types to see if something else is keeping your fields from matching.
