adding a membertype to a groupmember to be shown in clientslayout

      Post

I have 3 tables with many fields of which I will only mention the most important ones for this question:

           - clients (fields: client id, clientname )
           - groups (fields: group id, groupname, category, date)
           - groups_clients (group id, client id, creation date)

Clients and groups are related through 'groups_clients', so I can choose / add members to the group by selecting client numbers/names in a portal in 'groups' and in the clientstable I can see the groupmemberships of a client (Clients layout: a portal based on the groups_clients table and in that portal place the groupname field from the groups table.)

I would like to add membertype to a groupmember b.e. assistent or host, which can be different per group. This type I also would like to see in the clients layout I mentioned above. I've tried several things and all I end up with are the 2 things I do NOT want:

           - the client is an assistent in all groups

           or

           - every groupsmember is an assistent

I'm sure I'm doing something very stupid, but I just don't see how to do this. Hoping for some fm wisdom.....thankx in advance...

I don't have a better title description, sorry..
