Adding definitions and data from one DB to another

      Post

I'm new to FM, about one month into development.  I found what I think is some real good template software.

What I'd like to do is combine what I've developed into the template software.  I guess I have a couple of options:

      1.  Keep my system and slowly add in the features from the template software

      2.  Add my system into the template software

I think I'd like to use the template software (even if I don't use some of the features right now).  Is there an easy way to merge my entire DB (including DB, Relationships, scripts, etc) into the template DB?

      Any suggestions?

      Thanks,

      Dan

It can be done, but it's not simple and is best done by someone who fully understands FileMaker and also the structure of your database. Tables and scripts can be imported. Layout objects can be copied and pasted. Relationships as well as value lists that aren't simply a list of custom values have to be recreated by hand. All of this has to take place in the right order to keep parts of the imported/recreated additions from being broken by the process.

You might be better off, incorporating one new feature at a time...
