Selectively summing groups of records isn't always a simple thing.
What does one row of your report example represent? A single record with data summed from a related table or a sub summary part representing groups of records?
Are you using Filemaker 12 or newer? Ever create SQL queries before?
Yes you're right I should have been more descriptive. Each highlighted row represents a record within the same table. Within this layout I am 1) grouping the jobs pertaining to a specific appraiser, 2) a sub summary of their job fees (highlighted in blue), and 3) further down (not on the screen) a grand total of all the job fees. Once again, the accumulation of the highlighted rows is what I'm after. Unfortunately for me I am on Filemaker 11 and no I have not created SQL queries before.
What about a portal of the table duplicated attached via a relationship? I tried this earlier, but failed miserably.
Define a calculation field with an If or Case Function so that the value returned is nothing unless the value of your "on hold" field specified that it is on hold:
If ( Not Isempty ( On Hold ) ; Job Fee )
Then a summary field can total this calculation field to get a total only of "On Hold" values.
Pure brilliance. It worked flawlessly. I can't thank you enough.
