JPG hasn't any trasparence and the same is true for some TIF/TIFF
OK changed file top PNG and put it back in but I still can't see any options to change or set transparency. Where on the inspector is it situated. I have appearance tab selected. Everything in the advanced graphic section is greyed out.
I believe that you have to use a graphic editor program to modify the file's transparency--not FileMaker...
Are you looking for true transparency? - ie you can place data behind this image and have the data show?
Or are you just looking for a lighter image, which you could send to the back of the layout, with all data in front? In this case, it might not have to be transparent, just light enough (which you would adjust in your imaging software) to contrast with data and other stuff on the layout.
Also, in PShop, under Save for Web, choose PNG-24, and be sure that the Transparency box is checked. This format supports transparency for web uses, might help you here.
