The path is relative (in folder of the database or subfolder)
The path is on the computer running the database.
The path points to a server or website?
If you put the path into a browser, does it show the png graphic?
1. The path is not in the folder of the database or a subfolder.
2. In this case, the path is on the computer, but I would like it to be able to work on a server if necessary.
3. If I put the path in a browser, the png does display.
"If I put the path in a browser, the png does display." - it does? Which file path - the one that is (equivalent to) C:/MyDocs/Maps/Map.png, or the complete file path name including the 'filemac:' in front of it...
The one that is equivalent to the windows-style format that you listed first.
I've also displayed a custom dialog that just shows the variable $$pathvar. Here is what it pops out:
I believe you need to amend the pathname with file: in front of it, so that Filemaker knows what is 'calling' the action. In Windows, the full path is file:/drive:/folder/filename for local files. For remote files, the full path is file://volume/folder/filename.In the Mac OS, the full path is file:/volume/folder/filename for local and remote files.
In the prefix and no go, the same error keeps popping up.
