Are there issues caused by upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10?
I have had several issues (not related to Filemaker) as a result of 48 hrs ago upgrading from Windows 7 to 10.
Now, my Filemaker application is not initializing buttons for New Record or Delete Record in any layout. I've already rebooted. Password is correct. Manage security shows Full Access for the user I'm logged in as.
I can't help but suspect that Windows upgrade is somehow causing this. I can navigate my data, but not edit anything. Message is "action cannot be performed because file is not modifiable". Could Windows upgrade have reassigned permissions to edit fmp12 files? Is this something I need to fix within Filemaker, or somewhere in new Windows 10?
sorry for the false alarm. Solved my own problem. HOWEVER, it might be useful to others using Filemaker under Windows 7 that when you upgrade to Windows 10 (for now, at least) Windows seems to be removing Modify permission from fmp12 files (and lord knows what else). Easy enough to fix, but who was to know?
