Attaching file in container field to email

      Post

       Hello,

I wrote a script that sends out email notifications and I want to attach a word file.  The file is stored in a container field.  The script can be initiated from different computers.  So it would be a lot easier to grab the file from a container field then to make sure the file is saved on all computers.  The Send Mail dialog box only lets you define a filepath.  Is there a way to use the container field to make the attachment?

      Thanks!!

I thought Phil answered this very recently?  No?

You can set the script to Export Field Contents and use it to save the contents of the container field locally.  You can set where the file will be stored to, and named, using Get functions like Get (TemporaryPath) to build the correct pathname to where the file will be sent.

Then you can set the e-mail to pick up the filepath to that destination and filename.
