Suppressing Self-Referencing Auto Enter Fields
When the newest sequence equals what has been defined to be the max amount of sequences from the parent table PRINTS , I want to enter a sold out date in the parent table PRINTS.
What would be the best way to go about this?
a) Don't use an auto-enter calcualtion as they won't update automatically when a referenced field from another table/record changes. A script trigger can perform a script that updates the needed field to show that a particular print is sold out.
b) Set this auto-enter up in the same table as the table that get's a new record with each new print in the sequence and simply refer to it from Prints--this may require sorting a relationship in descending order by sequence or sorting a portal in the same fashion, to get the "sold out" value to display.
