      Auto Field Entry...?

      Post

I have a form with many fields...

When a user fills out one form (record), he/she needs to create another record and for convenience I'd like to take the info he/she put in some fields (which I know will be the same) from the first record and go ahead and populate the second...

This will keep the user from having to duplicate field entries and he/she can start entering the info in the new record that is different from the first record.

Other than duplicating the record and having the user erase fields and update them... I can't see a good way to do that.

      I'd greatly appreciate any help...

Perhaps those common fields should be part of a separate but related record. Then both forms could link to the same related record and the data would not have to be entered twice.

A script can also be devised that duplicates the record and then clears designated fields to produce what you describe.
