      Auto Open Files at Startup

      Post

I want to setup FM so that when I open it, it automatically opens certain files.

How can I do this? I found no good answer to this on the forum.

How do I set a file to be open automatically upon startup of Filemaker?

Any help here would be greatly  appreciated.
I have FMPro Advanced 10.0 v3OS - Windows Vista on desktop, Windows 7 on laptop

You cannot set up the FileMaker application to automatically open a specific file or list of files. You can set up one FileMaker file to open all the other files in a set. You can then double click this FileMaker "opener" file to open all the other files you want to open automatically.

To do so, in the opener file write a script like this:

          Open File[file1]
          Open File[file2]
          Open File[file3]

In place of file1, file2, file3..., specify the files you want to open. The files being opened can be local to the same computer or can be files that are hosted over the network.

In File Options for this opener file, you can specify that the above script be performed automatically when the file is opened.

I am interested in this also. It seems to me this should be possible. When I install a fresh copy of FileMaker it automatically opens an introduction file. Is this maybe handeled in the registry?
