Title

Auto-Enter Value From Calculation Is Not Triggered When Creating Records Through A Portal

Post

In it's simplest form I have two tables

Table 1) EVENTS

Table 2) DATE_TIME that allows for the event to cover multiple dates and times

There is a field LEAD MANAGER in the EVENTS table

The Auto-Enter field is within the DATE_TIME table in a field called MANAGER.  It is a simple calculation (=Events::Lead Manager).  The purpose is to reduce data entry.  The lead manager is the default unless the user assigns a different manager from a drop-down list.

The DATE_TIME records are created through a portal from EVENTS

The problem is the auto-enter value does not trigger when I create a DATE_TIME record through the portal.  It will, however, trigger when I create the record thrugh the portal, delete that record, then recreate it.

Thoughts why this occurs?
