By any chance are you doing this with FileMaker GO on an iPad or iPhone?
Sounds like a stack overrun that's more likely to happen in GO than Pro.
Sorry, I should have specified. Filemaker 11.03. Running on a macbook pro.
One more detail. If I then omit the first record, the first questionmark in the list becomes my data. So it does seem to be related to how many records are in the found set.
If I then omit the first record, the first questionmark in the list becomes my data.
What does that mean exactly?
So I have a list. And for records 001 through 100, I see those numbers. What should be 101 shows up as ?
If I omit record 001, the new first record takes on that first number (see formula) and I still see 001 through 100. The record that was formerly 101 (and showed up only as a question mark) now shows up as 100 and the new 101 now shows up as a question mark.
Seems like we can simplify here and avoid the whole issue:
Right ( "000" & Get (RecordNumber ) ; 3 )
which will number your found set 001, 002 up to 999.
