It is a bit difficult to find out correct absolute paths in FileMaker.
One way is this.
* Fill a container field with an image only as reference.
* create a calc field = container (text)
and the calc field will give you (among other info) the absolute path.
Thanks for replying. I did get the path using your method. However - it's not working properly...
It returns imagemac:/HD/etc. but when right clicking it - it doesn't show the "open file option".
It only show the open-option (and therefore a valid link) when using: file:///Users/Name/Documents/10001.10.png
Another issue is how to get it to import the image automatically - based on the calc which generates the path above (is it scripting or ...)?
The first notation imagemac:/... is suited for linking container fields. You can build a calc field type container with this notation and show the resulting container field on the layout.
The second notation file:///... is valid for use as URL. Right click -> Follow Hyperlink or use as calc of a webviewer are possible uses.
