    Averaging using a summary field



      Averaging using a summary field


      I am using Filemaker Pro 10 on Windows XP.


      I have created a calculation field for determining the % spend as a function of income. The income is always known, but sometimes the spend isn't.


      I have then created a summary field to determine the average % spend. For some reason it includes the calculation fields from records that do not have the spend entered as the information is not available.


      All the 'help' suggests the average summary field should not include values that are empty.


      Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
