We have FileMaker Server 8.0. When we login to FileMaker Instant Web Publishing, we use Select and Find to filter records. Now when we filter we receive this error: Bad Request The server could not porcess your request due to a missing command: "".

Any help is appreciated, Thanks in advance!

          Thank you for your post.

Is FileMaker Server 8.0 running on Mac or Windows?  What version of the operating system?

What find criteria are you entering when the error message appears?  How many records are in the table?  How many records should be displaying in the found set?  Is there anything different about this found set compared to other found sets (other than the criteria)?

Any additional information you can provide that will help me replicate the issue would be appreciated.

            Thanks TSGal,

What find criteria are you entering when the error message appears? We are using Select and Find buttons to filter records by staff How many records are in the table? In this particular table we have 49 records. Yet the error is received anywhere in the database using Select and Find. In total we have 5 tables in this database (highest number of records is 63). How many records should be displaying in the found set? This depends on the staff member who is logged in, yet highest number of filter records to display rarely exceeds 25. Is there anything different about this found set compared to other found sets (other than the criteria)? Not that we can see. The error appears in any table with Select and Find in the database. Funny thing is we do not have this error in older databases with the exact same layout using Select and Find.

We are thinking it may be a setting on how the database is published to the web? Perhaps somewhere in the File > Instant Web Publishing dialog box?

We are shoulder deep in reporting at the moment yet I will check back throught this week and let you know what I find,

Thank you for the additional information.

              > "We are using Select and Find buttons to filter records by staff"

Can you be a little more specific.  Are these buttons on the layout?  Do these buttons call commands or scripts?

              > "Funny thing is we do not have this error in older databases with the exact same layout using Select and Find."

This may mean your current file has become corrupt.  Using a copy of the older file, open the file in FileMaker Pro, remove all records from each of the five tables, and then import the data from each of the five tables in the problem file.  Host the newly updated older file, and see if the problem persists.

Can you be a little more specific.  Are these buttons on the layout? Yes Select and Find appear on the layout Do these buttons call commands or scripts? Yes these each call a scipt named Select and Find

We hope this is not the case yet it may be true. I will let you know how it goes after removing the records.

Also please recommend what are the settings we should have when preparing the FileMaker database for Instant Web Publishing? Perhaps there is a setting we have missed as well, Thanks Nancy IDM

                  Nancy IDM:

There are no special settings for Instant Web Publishing other than what appears under the File menu "Sharing -> Instant Web Publishing".  That is, you can set the port, language, and the file attributes (all users, specify users by privilege set, or no users).

                    Thanks for a quick reply!

I will review older settings in a model built earlier this year and see if this area may help. Yet first I will try recommendations noted earlier and let you know how it goes,

                      TSGal..finally posting an update: :smileyindifferent:

                      • we used a copy of last year's file, removed all records, imported data into the file, same error appears
                      • yet we doubt now it is the database after attending the FileMaker 10 Makeover web seminar (Wednesday, December 2, 2009). There was a Q&A session with Chad Novotny of The Support Group. One of them was if we could run FileMaker 10 scripts in older versions of FileMaker like 8.5. Turns out we cannot run scripts created in FileMaker 10 in older versions of FileMaker. This was an important find for us as we have our server running FileMaker Server 8, our pc clients running FileMaker Pro 8.5, and we (database developers) run FileMaker Pro Advanced 10.
                      • also we found out FileMaker Pro Advanced 10 was just updated this year so no-one could have experienced this issue until the new databases were published this Fall (yikes!)

If there's other recommendations we are open to try. Otherwise we're closing this post for now.

                      Thank You to All!
