As I mentioned in your other thread, the Zebra and Dymo printers provide receipt output, and can be used just like any other printer. You'll just need to take the size of the paper into account. In theory, as I've only used them for fixed size labels, so I don't know how they deal with continous paper, or how to adjust the FM layout for continous printing.
For barcode scanning, anything that is 'port' compatible with your computers, and the format of barcode you're using should work. I've used many of the Metrologic USB scanners, and have had very little trouble with them, on both PC and Mac computers. They are very simple devices - whatever barcode is scanned in is decoded and sent to the computer as just text, as if you had typed in the text directly with a keyboard.
