Best Practices for Dashboard / Startup Screen
I've read as many posts as I can on creating Dashboards, and I still have a question:
Do I need to create a special table for the Dashboard Layout? Maybe one that only has one record? Then relate all records to that?
If not, then does it matter what Table I use when I create the Layout?
Tables -- Asset, AssetStage, Notes, References
(I want to create a Dashboard that has Portal lists into each of these tables.)
Thanks in advance.
Do you have to? No.
Is it a good idea to have a table just for the dashboard? Probably.
There are quite a few different variations on what people call a "dashboard" and what they choose to put on one. The details of your design can argue for one approach over another.
