Built-in Function v. SQL
I have a quick question for the pros!
I would like to know which would be more reliable, quicker and or effecient using FMP 12
Using FMPs built-in function, like get(totalrecordcount)
Using FMPs ExecuteSQL("SELECT COUNT * FROM [table]";"";"")
Just curious if anyone has tried something like this.
I guess I should say from a table containing a modest 50-100 k in records.
Thanks for your time
If you find out,--it's pretty easy to set up a test for this--let us know. ExecuteSQL still has that "new function" smell and we're all still learning its strengths and weaknesses. Speed is one question that keeps coming up without any clear cut answers.
