Can I disable the login screen when the Filemaker files is launched? I don't want it to prompt for a username and password.
I assume you have FMP Advanced version 9 or 10.
Setup the default account with File>File Options… Log in using: and the runtime will automatically bypass the prompt (unless the user purposely holds down the shift key while launching the file).
Thanks so much...That worked great!
I have FMP Advance 9
I Need help setting up disable login. I'm having trouble finding and setting up default account, and where to enter or select File>File Options
Select File Options from the File Menu.
You see text boxes for entering an account name and a password.
If you enter a valid account name/password, the file will automatically open itself with this account the next time you open the file.
Works on host computer but is it possible for IWP to have no login?
I'm just starting to play with IWP in FMP 10 myself. As far as I know, the same method should work.
In fact, the manual describes this very method for setting up a limited access "guest" account for web users, if I am remembering correctly.
I can't seem to bypass the login screen on IWP.
I found this information in the Filemaker 10 Instant Web Publishing Guide. It's not quite what I described earlier:
- If the Guest account and at least one other account that requires authentication both have the Instant Web Publishing extended privilege enabled, web users have the option to log in with the Guest account instead of an account name and password.
- If the Guest account is the only account with the Instant Web Publishing extended privilege enabled, web users automatically log in with the Guest account, and they do not see the login page.
- The default privilege set for Guest accounts provides "read-only" access. You can change the default privilege in the Accounts tab of the Manage Accounts & Privileges dialog box. For more information, see FileMaker Pro Help.
Works Perfect on both IWP and Host computer.
