Doesn't matter whether or not file was generated by FileMaker pro so long as you can compute the file path to that file. If so, you can assign that path to a variable and use it in the add file dialog that opens when you click the attachment check box to attach the file.
I think the issue again for me was that I am using Microsoft Live Mail and when I have the script to attach a file to an email It does not happen!
It's very incoviniet that only Outlook or who knows what other mail client on windows is compatable with this script step...
FileMaker help lists the email clients that are compatible. And you also have the option of using an SMTP email server.
Feel free to post the script where you attach the email if you want someone else to look it over for possible issues.
To post a script to the forum:
- You can upload a screen shot of your script by using the Upload an Image controls located just below Post A Answer.
- You can print a script to a PDF, open the PDF and then select and copy the script as text from the opened PDF to your clipboard for pasting here. (with this approach, you can get multiple script steps on the same line, please edit the pasted text by inserting some returns to separate those steps.)
- If You have FileMaker Advanced, you can generate a database design report and copy the script as text from there.
- If you paste a text form of the script, you can use the Script Pretty box in the Known Bugs List database to paste a version that is single spaced and indented for a more professional and easier to read format.
