Title

Can conditional formatting use calculated field names?

Post

A script enters default text into ChiefComplaint::Data. The requirement is that the text color is gray initially but turns black once a user modifies the text.

This Conditional Formatting dialog formula satisfies that requirement...

ChiefComplaint::ModifiedWhen = ChiefComplaint::CreatedWhen

This one doesn't...

GetField ( Get ( ActiveFieldTableName ) & "::ModifiedWhen" ) = GetField ( Get ( ActiveFieldTableName ) & "::CreatedWhen" )

Code reusability is my reason for preferring the second formula; it would work for any active field without making changes to the conditional formatting formula each time.

Thanks
