Can Filemaker Do This?

I currently have a database that requires large, daily imports of data. These imports can take anywhere from 3-10 hours each. While data is being imported, I can't use the program for anything else, which is a problem. I've been trying to do imports overnight, but this isn't always feasible. So two questions:

1) I notice that if I interrupt an import FMP does not actually cancel the import, it just stops at whatever point it's gotten to. Is there any way to resume the import exactly at the point I left off? In other words is there a way for FMP to recognize where the import stopped and to resume from that point? (I think the answer is no, but I'm really hoping someone knows a way to do this)

2) I am currently using Filemaker Pro 10. Will FMP 11 or FMP Advanced allow me to work on other files while I am importing data (not necessarily the file I am importing in to, but other files), or do I need Filemaker Server for this?
