Thank you for your post.
If you have:
Send Mail
... without any options, FileMaker will pause and leave you inside your default email application. Instead, select the name, subject, body, etc. and also check the option to perform without dialog. FileMaker will then send the information to your email application "Out box" until the next time the email application sends/receives files.
Send Mail isn't empty, it just has a ton of variables and fields put into the function and I didn't want to list them all here. Everything populates fine, but while that email is open, nothing else can be done in outlook. I'm wondering if there's a way to fix that. Thanks!
This may not be a FileMaker issue. I've noticed the same behavior when using Excel & Outlook. When I want to send a spreadsheet as an email attachment from within Excel (File/Send To/Mail Recipient) an Outlook window opens up to allow me to edit the email message but I can't open any other Outlook windows until the Excel/Outlook message is sent.
This is exactly the issue. Anyone have any thoughts on a way to resolve it? Thanks!
It's an outlook security issue, I have changed it once and it worked, but can't remember where it was. I now suffer from it again since our IT department did a refresh and gave us all new machines. From what I recall it was in the same area that talks about the error whenever you do an autosend email from send mail to outlook, and notes that an outside program is trying to use outlook to send emails.
