Change font settings if a field equals yes
I am trying to make a field become bold and change color if another field equals "yes". This could be used by conditional formatting, I'm just not sure how to achieve this.
Select the field and then select conditional formatting and click ADD. Change it to 'formula' and it should be: Self = "Yes" and then down below, change the text to bold. Conditional formatting is probably the COOLEST thing FileMaker has come out with since relationships. :smileyhappy:
Ooops! If ANOTHER field equals 'yes.' You can't use Self then.
Just create a conditonal format on the second field using a calculation fomula such as:
Field1 = "Yes"
Change the format to bold and whatever color
okay that sounds easy enough. However I probably should have mentioned that I use FMP7. So I don't think it will work 7.
Okay then you cant use conditional formatting but you can use an auto-entry with calculated value ( Do not replace unchecked ).
Case ( Field1 = "Yes" ; TextColor ( TextStyleAdd ( Field2 ; Bold ) ; RGB ( 255 ; 0 ; 0 ) ); TextColorRemove ( TextStyleRemove ( Field2 ; Bold ) ) )<!-- SEARCH --><!-- POLLS --><!-- FILES --><!-- SIGNATURE -->
That works great!
Thank you so much
