There is no automatic way to remove the color. You could just print in grayscale...
Another option is to enter layout mode and use the Duplicate Layout option to make a copy of the layout. You can then edit the layout to remove color. When you want to print from the layout, you switch to this layout for printing. If you use a script, your script can switch layouts, print, and then switch back to the original layout so that the user is unaware of the change in layouts during the print.
Once you know where to look, it's easy to change or remove the background color for a particular layout. In layout mode, make sure that your Part tabs are visible. (These are the little horizontal tabs that appear at the divisions of your parts on your layout). Click on one of the Part tabs to highlight it. With it highlighted, you should be able to change the fill color.
