Have updated the post now, sorry for that
As far as I know, there's no way to change any such behavior in your print dialog. What Operating system?
On my windows xp system, I can only type in three digits, but if I then click the up arrow to the right of it, I can get a larger number of copies to be specified.
We are using XP pro in production but I have tested this in windows 7 and its the samething. Yes that is correct, but it will take a while to get to 3000 copies... tried to mark and replace the 1 but it will reset to 000 then and only allow 3 chars :)
Ouch. This sounds like an issue for posting to the feature request form: http://www.filemaker.com/company/feature_request.html
If this is a standard number of copies, you might consider using a script for this. That way you only have to click your way to 3000 one time.
Another work around might be to use Save as PDF to generate a PDF of the report and see if you can open the PDF and print 3000 copies of it.
I have been unable to set more than 999 copies in the print dialogue of any software in XP, but after going to 'print properties' and setting the number greater than 999 the new value is reflected in the print dialogue and prints the correct (greater than 999) amount.
Work has recently upgraded changed to Windows 7 and now the increased number of prints set in 'print properties' is not reflected in the print dialogue and the correct (greater than 999) amount no longer prints.
This indicates that the issue may be global in the Windows 7 environment and not restricted to FileMaker (which I don't have).
